Title: Understanding cosmological tensions
Abstract: In this talk I will briefly discuss my background and journey towards beginning my PhD in cosmological tensions and early dark energy (EDE). I will then explain the current status of the Hubble tension, showing constraints from the CMB with Planck and how they are obtained, as well as local universe probes that prefer a higher H0 value. I will show that with EDE, the same CMB result can be obtained with an agreeably higher value, though at the expense of a worsened S8 tension. I will end with an insight into my current work incorporating newer datasets to constrain EDE.
