Abstract:
I will explain how CMB observations can constrain the epoch of reheating,
and I will discuss the results of my recent paper 1410.7958 in that matter.
Reheating explains how inflation is connected to the subsequent hot Big-Bang
phase and drives the production of all types of particles at its onset. Once the
inflaton decay products have thermalized, the radiation dominated era starts,
and for the first time in its history, the Universe acquires a temperature.
Measuring this “reheating temperature” is of crucial importance to understand
the thermal history of the Universe.
