“Black Holes in the Extremes, from the smallest to the largest to the naked”:
Our understanding of black holes have gone from being considered
interesting oddities of nature to essential components of both
formation and evolution of stellar systems. While there has been
significant progress in defining the relationships between the black
hole masses and their host properties, the underlying physics which
drives these is still lacking a detailed understanding. I will focus
on efforts to explore the extremes of the relations, from the lowest
to the highest masses. I will also provide some recent work using
HETDEX to look for black holes with little to no host galaxy.
