Research interests: I am interested primarily in Cosmology and Astrophysics - large scale structure, dark energy, dark matter, inflation, galaxy evolution, theories of cosmology... I am especially interested in the combination of theoretical models and observational data that work to constrain each other. Additional areas of interest include HPC Computing, Cybersecurity and Cryptography and the Open Science movement.
Biography:
I am a final year PhD student at the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation. My research is funded through the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and focuses on probes of Dark Energy. Specifically I am looking at cross-correlating Photometric and Spectroscopic probes over a common sky volume.
I also actively engage in Science Outreach and Public Engagement to a range of audiences from primary schools to the general public.
I was awarded my Open BSc (Hons) degree from the Open University after gaining a Certificate of Higer Education from the University of Durham in Astronomy & Physics.
Away from my academic life I enjoy using and contributing to OpenSource software, walking and hardware hacking.
Qualifications: BSc Honours (Open, Open University), Diploma of H.E. (Astrophysics, Durham)Roles and Collaborations: Student Computing Commitee Rep
