Sciama2, the new supercomputer, is now running as an autonomous environment in parallel with the original Sciama. At the moment user accounts, applications, libraries and data are being transferred to the new machine. Jobs are currently running in both environments but in October the old Sciama will be updated (Operating Systems, Firmware etc) and merged with Sciama2.

The old Sciama has now been running for three and a half years. On the first day of the Sciama2 installation it completed its one millionth job. Lets hope Sciama2 will be just as successful.
